Our story
A family business in Britain, a family home in Jaipur, and the textiles that connect them.
Made in Jaipur, a Royal City.
Every Malhara piece is made by artisans in Jaipur. Jaipur is a Royal City, and we say so with pride.
We name the city plainly because it is the first thing worth knowing about anything we sell.
A sister to Malhara House.
We share our name with Malhara House, our family home in Jhotwara, Jaipur: a circular house clad in white marble, with a dome topped by a cupid statue. The house is opened for photography.
Our razais are used there, so the house is where we mean to photograph them: in use, in a real home.
Sold from Britain.
Malhara is based in Burnley, Lancashire. It is a trading name of Eraa (U.K.) Ltd, a family business established there in 1987.
We sell to the UK and Europe. Nothing we sell is made in Britain, and we would not want you to think otherwise.
What we hold to.
Every piece tells its own truth.
Each piece is described by what is true of that piece: its making, its materials, its maker's craft. If you could not check it, we do not say it.
Jaipur, said with pride.
Our wares come from Jaipur, a Royal City, and we name it plainly. We sell from Britain and never suggest the wares are made here.
Seen in a real home.
Our razais live at Malhara House. Where we can, we show pieces in use there, not styled in a studio.
Worth the price.
We charge for the craft and the quality, and explain what makes them so. We do not compete on being cheapest.
Find Malhara on Etsy.
